Chez Sushi La Plagne: Top Takeaway on the La Plagne Slopes

Chez sushi la plagne

As a longtime resident in La Plagne, I’m a convert to the French style of cooking. Cheese, meats and as much butter as you can cook with! Delicious! However, as great as a raclette or côte de boeuf is, sometimes you want something different. Which is why I was so excited when Chez Sushi opened. It's become a popular spot with both locals and people here on holiday.

So if you fancy something different, this is the blog for you!

Is sushi a good option for kids and families?

We opted to get take away whilst the kids were at school so we could enjoy a meal together. However, sushi is also a good idea for kids and families. You can order several dishes to mix and match. Which is perfect for kids, offering a variety of flavors and textures that can appeal to their taste buds. Opt for milder options like avocado or cucumber rolls to introduce them to sushi gradually. The colorful and visually appealing nature of sushi can make it an exciting and enjoyable dining experience for children.

Additionally, some children may prefer cooked or tempura-based sushi, allowing them to enjoy a familiar taste. My kids particularly enjoy Char Siu Bao, which are the white dough balls, usually stuffed with barbeque pork. We also either order a bowl of white sticky rice with the takeaway, or cook some off at home to bump up how much they actually eat.

Chez Sushi - a personal experience

Chez Sushi La Plagne review

The last time we ordered take away from Chez Sushi, I opted for a mixed roll box and miso soup and my husband had a sashimi box and salmon rolls. The menu boxes are a generous size, my husband ate all his in one sitting, but there was plenty in mine to enjoy the following day.

Your take away always comes with Wasabi, sliced ginger and soy sauce. Plus the option for the sweet or salty soy. Might seem small, but this is so important for us because I love the sweet and my husband prefers the salty version!

We really enjoyed our latest takeaway. My husband, being Asian, was skeptical of sushi in the mountains, but was won over! If you follow Chez Sushi on Instagram, they regularly post about the freshness of their ingredients, vegetables and fish. Plus, it's the best place to see what the daily or weekly specials are.
