Trail du Grand Bec

Champagny en Vanoise

For experienced runners who like long, wild rides! The most beautiful parts of the Champagny en Vanoise trails are covered during these races, taking participants up the slopes and ridges facing the Vanoise peaks.
The Champagny en Vanoise Tourist Office is organising the 36th edition of the Trails Alpins du Grand Bec (TAGB) on Sunday, 4 August 2023.

These famous races have become a must-do in the Tarentaise region during the summer.
The Trails Alpins du Grand Bec are foot races on tracks and trails in forests and mountain pastures. For over 30 years, these trails have been approved by the French Athletics Federation and, since this year, by the ITRA.

– The Trail de la Vélière, the main event of the TAGB, takes runners on the most beautiful trails of Champagny en Vanoise. The programme includes a start in the centre of the village for 28km and 1860m of positive altitude difference, a high point of more than 2500m and a ridge run of more than 2km. This race offers a magnificent mountain course and a sumptuous panorama of the most beautiful peaks of the Vanoise.

– The Trail du Mont de la Guerre is the little brother of the Trail de la Vélière. A 14,5km course with 1060m of positive difference in altitude crosses forests and mountain pastures to obtain a magnificent view of Champagny en Vanoise and the imposing Grand Bec.

– The Grand Bec hike is for those who prefer to stroll and admire the Vanoise landscape. Accessible to all from 6 years old. This is the ideal format for a leisurely hike marked out on tracks and paths to be enjoyed by the whole family. A 7.3km route with a 510m difference in altitude, with the possibility of taking a shortcut depending on your fitness.
