All these ski holiday childcare options have been tried and tested by my family or friends visiting La Plagne.

1 - My Mountain Nanny

My Mountain Nanny provides experienced Childcarers to families on holiday in the French Alps. Specialising in flexible childcare solutions to fit in with your family ski trip to La Plagne.

All the My Mountain Nanny team are carefully screened and selected to join the team to provide excellent ski holiday childcare in the mountains.  Their nannies have experience in professional childcare, recent and valid police checks/background checks, and a valid first aid certificate.

But as well as the professional stuff, they will also keep your kids entertained and having a blast in the snow whilst you head off and do whatever you need to do – from ski lessons to romantic alpine dinners.

  • A full-time nanny, 35 hours per week, costs €1225 (peak) and €1050 (off-peak).
  • A part-time nanny, 25 hours per week, is available in off-peak hours for 750€.

2 - T4 Nanny

T4 Nanny is a private childcare service run by Eloise. Initially from Tgines, T4 is setting up in La Plagne for winter 2023/24 – which is great news!

While my children aged out of needing nannies before I met Eloise and T4 Nanny, I have spent some time around their nannies and am always impressed. You can leave your little ones in good hands while heading off to explore the slopes.

Rates are set up for weekly bookings:

6 x 1/2 day : €1650 peak / €1300 off-peak

6 x full day : €1000 peak / €850 off-peak

They also have babysitting options from 7 pm, for evenings and nights out:

3 hours babysitting: 90€

Additional hours 35€/40€ (off-peak/peak)

3 - Alpine Childcare

Alpine Childcare is a platform for professional nannies throughout the French Alps. You can use the platform to search for family ski holidays with childcare or family ski childcare solutions by the ski resort.

I have had friends work via this network as professional nannies. I have also had visiting friends and family who have booked childcare using this service and have had great experiences. Having said that, the ski holiday childcare nannies listed change from year to year. I really rate the platform, and the service we have received has always been great, but I do not know any of the current nannies available in La Plagne.

Rates are charged hourly, at €26 per hour, with an extra €2,50 per additional child.

Alpine Childcare is a good option if you are looking for shorter cover, e.g., lunch breaks, dinners or single days or family ski weekend packages.

4 - Oxygene Ski School Lunch Club

There are several ski schools you can look at in La Plagne. However (at the point of writing this), the only ski school that offers any ski holiday childcare options is Oxygene Ski School

Aside from lessons – private and group ski lessons, they also run a lunch club service.

Your children are met at the ski school meeting point after their morning lessons by the lunch club monitor, who takes all the kids booked in for lunch at a local restaurant. Once they've eaten, they play games and entertain the kids until pick-up/afternoon ski school starts again.

The lunch club runs from 1230 – 1430 – i.e., the end of morning group lessons – the start of afternoon group lessons.

The rate is €35 per day.

Available for children aged 5 years – 12 years old.

5 - P'tit Bonnet Créche La Plagne

Les P’tits Bonnets crèche is in Plagne Centre, right next to the ESF ski school snow garden. The créche takes children from 5 months to 4 years old and offers entertaining, educational activities that allow your kids to play, get creative, and really enjoy themselves.

The créche provides a service for locals and seasonal workers and then also has a service for those on family ski holidays. Whilst the majority of the ski childcare staff are French, they do also speak some limited English.

Both my kids went to this créche from 5 months – 3 years (when they then started school), and I would 100% recommend P'tit Bonnets La Plagne. The childcare staff are all professional, kind and care for your children. The facilities, toys, and games provided are all excellent, and the meals and food services are all very well prepared.

The holiday “vacanciers” i.e. “ski holidaymakers” créche is open throughout the winter 5 days a week, Mon – Fri from 9 am – 530pm.

You have to provide the following:

  • Sun cream
  • Heat
  • Sunglasses -appropriate for winter

  • Gloves

That's La Plagne & the top family ski holiday 2024 childcare tips for this winter

On the back of Brexit and Covid, there are not a huge amount of private nannies in resorts anymore. However, the options here are all professional and good services for your family.
