Towards the bottom of Plagne 1800, Ski Famille offers 2 charming Alpine chalets: Nicole and Delphine. Both chalets are in great spots, not quite ski-in/out, but only metres from the beginner ski area in Plagne 1800.
Ski Famille is not a budget ski holiday, but I would say they provide excellent value for money. The chalets are catered with great options for mini meals and babies. There is also in-chalet childcare, which you can often find on sale and included in your ski holiday price. However, for peak weeks, you will pay extra for this.
The family packages are comprehensive, covering everything from cosy lodgings to lift passes, ski lessons, and even childcare options.
- Crystal Ski – Aime 2000
Crystal Ski has a variety of accommodation options in hotels around La Plagne. However, for childcare, their base is in MMV in Aime 2000. It’s in a great location for an easy family ski experience with spectacular mountain views and quick access to the slopes.
Crystal Ski provides incredibly competitive pricing, usually including flights and transfers – which most ski companies no longer package together. You can often find deals on lift passes and/or free child spaces, so it’s worth following their social media to snap up deals when they happen.
- Hotel TerraNova – Plagne Centre
The Hotel TerraNova is directly on the piste, alongside the green beginner's ski slope in Plagne Centre. It’s the perfect location for beginner skiers and family ski trips. The pricing is mid-range and combines value and comfort with a range of room options to suit different needs. They do have family suites and interconnecting rooms to accommodate families.
There is a childcare option at the TerraNova running throughout the day, as well as evening entertainment. However, this is geared towards French-speaking clients, and the majority of the hotel guests are French. But it is still a good option to look at, especially for the excellent location.
- Club Alpine – MontChavin
Club Alpine is a chalet company based in MontChavin and offers a more intimate and traditional Alpine experience surrounded by stunning landscapes. Their holiday prices are good value for money, reflecting that they are located in one of the lower villages, but still in an excellent location to get to the ski slopes and high-altitude skiing.
Childcare is available as an added extra throughout the day and also in the evening and from the age of 6 months and upwards.
