11 ways to Celebrate Valentines’ Day in La Plagne

Here are eleven unique ways to celebrate love amidst the snowy slopes and stunning vistas.

Events organised by the La Plagne team

1 Montchavin Rose Hunt

The La Plagne team will be hiding little picture roses all over the Montchavin-Les Coches resort for Valentine’s Day this year. Find one of the pictures and exchange it for a real rose to keep or to give to someone you love!

Remember, it’s 1 rose per person, leave some for the others!

2 Last Tracks in La Plagne

The love festival is back at the summit! For a change from the traditional restaurant, go to the Grande Rochette summit to experience a gourmet and romantic moment in the ski area of La Plagne.

The number of places is limited (first 25 couples), so register quickly at one of the Tourist Offices.

Programme of the Valentine's Day Last Track

Departure from the Funiplagne gondola (Plagne Centre) at 4.50 pm to reach the summit of La Grande Rochette

  • Facing the mountain panorama at sunset, a romantic buffet: sweets, fruit juice tasting and a waffle bar
  • Ski down the slopes by torchlight at 6.10 pm or take the gondola for pedestrians

3 Get the perfect Valentine’s Day Photo!

If you want a really original Valentine's Day photo, head to the top of Les Verdons (access via La Lovatière or Verdons Sud chairlifts). Up here, the La Plagne team will have set up a unique photo setting for you, including a wooden tripod where you can put your smartphone in “self-timer” mode to snap the perfect shot.

If you’re not on skis, then don’t worry. There is also a Kissing Booth being set up in Plagne Centre, next to the ice rink. Another place to get your Insta-worthy Valentine’s Day pictures. There from 10 am – 6 pm.

4 Romantic Walk and candlelit Savoyard aperitif

As night falls, enjoy a short romantic walk along the Dou du Praz footpath (15 min). Follow the love quiz that will guide you to the tasting area, where you’ll find a Savoyard aperitif with a cheese and charcuterie tasting plate accompanied by a glass of Savoy wine will await you. The perfect location to spend a special moment together.

You do need to book this activity before 430 pm at one of the tourist offices. Plus, spaces are limited, with 40 couples in total.

Meet between 6 pm and 6.30 pm at the trailhead at the top of Plagne Villages, where you will be met by one of the La Plagne activity team.  End of the activity at 7.30 pm.

5 “Love Boys” stroll

If you fancy some entertainment and music on the pistes, then you might have to hunt down the Love Boys. The musical trio will be making their way around La Plagne with music, games and more.

If your heart is already taken, they'll give you a red heart sticker to adorn your jacket or helmet. But if your heart is still open, wear a green heart with pride throughout the day. It’s basically a traffic light party of old! You never know… you might just find your perfect match while skiing down the slopes or riding the chairlift!

Plus, there’s also the chance to play the fun-filled ‘Wheel of Love' game and win unforgettable prizes…

The Love Boys will be in:

  • In Plagne centre
9.45 am to 10.30 am in the galleries and on the snow front
  • In Plagne Aime 2000

7 Relax with a Couples Spa Day

Skiing is exhilarating, but it can also be taxing on the body. What better way to unwind than a spa day? Imagine a couples massage or a private sauna session with breathtaking views of the snow-covered mountains. It’s relaxation and romance rolled into one. My absolute favourite spa in La Plagne is the Deep Nature Spa in Belle Plagne, but check out this popular blog post about all the top La Plagne spa and massage places

8 Secluded Mountain Top Picnic

Swap the busy restaurant scene for a quiet picnic atop the mountains. Pack a hamper with local delicacies – think fine cheeses, artisanal chocolates, and maybe a bottle of bubbly. Find a secluded spot with a view, lay down your blanket, and enjoy a meal with a panorama that can't be beaten.

If you’re thinking of doing it, my top tip is to head to one of the village bakeries to pick up the most delicious pastries, cakes and chocolate treats!

9 Snowshoe to a Romantic Cabin

For adventurous couples, a guided snowshoe hike to a secluded cabin or mountain-top restaurant could be the highlight of your Valentine's Day. Picture a quaint restaurant in the woods, a warm fire, and a cosy dinner for two. It's a chance to disconnect and focus on each other in a setting straight out of a fairy tale.

10 Dine at a High-Altitude Restaurant

For a culinary adventure, head to a mountain restaurant. Accessible only by ski or snowmobile, these eateries offer gourmet meals with a side of stunning panoramic views. It’s the perfect blend of adventure and fine dining.

Here are some of the best restaurants around La Plagne I would recommend for a Valentines’ Day long lunch or a romantic evening dinner.

11 Romantic or Adrenaline Rush, Night-Time Sledding

Ok, so it’s not super romantic! But for the more adventurous out there, the nighttime super luge and sledging are great fun! Imagine shooting down 7 km of slopes with your bestie, from the top of Aime 2000, down to La Roche. Lots of companies offer this, but the OG and best, in my opinion, are Oxygene Ski School
