I prefer varuum bags over packing cubes to compress bulky layers and use as dirty-laundry bags for the trip home. My top tip is to get 1 massive one, lay it out in your suitcase and then fill it, shrink it and you're good to go!
Pocket Tissues or Vintage Hankies
Trust me: tissues disintegrate in snow.
Old-school hankies stay intact and look oddly chic. They also work well as goggle cleaners in you get a face full of snow.
You can get them on Amazon. But I actually pinched some of my Nan's and topped up in charity shops for that real vintage feel!
Kids’ thermals
Base layers drop heavily in price during Black Friday. It's a great moment to buy next year’s sizes too. I've just topped up mine and my kids with Siroko. Their prices looked too good to believe! So I ordered some stuff and it's great! Currently loving the pink bunny-ear balacalava for my toddler; the fleece midlayers for the boys and the sports bra I got myself is so suportive and flattering. They currently have 50% off across the site.

I've been using this for over a year now and I love it. Seriously. For me, it's perfect for use at night or when I'm travelling with the family. I used it on our recent long-haul flight and holiday to have a pile of books at my fingertips. The main thing for me is that I use it on my phone rather than a Kindle so that I can have it with me wherever I go.

If you're heading skiing with the kids this winter, then a subscription to Audible might be a great shout. You can choose and download a selection of audiobooks for yourself and your kids at age-appropriate levels. So, if you have a long car journey, flight, or ski transfer, you have a form of entertainment that isn't screen-dependent.
