The La Plagne Super Tyro Route

Spanning 600 meters from Aime 2000 to Plagne Centre, the route of the Super Tyro zipline is an adventure in itself. Launching from Aime 2000, riders are treated to a high-speed journey over the serene Lac Vert. Which is the ‘green lake.' But it is frozen in winter and covered in snow. But you'll still see the magnificent Mont Blanc serving as a picturesque backdrop. This stretch isn’t just a ride; it's a scenic tour of La Plagne – and the Alps! – from a perspective, few get to witness. The thrill of darting through the air, coupled with the alpine beauty, makes this more than just an adrenaline rush.

How to get to the La Plagne Zipline Starting Point

The Super Tyro take-off is from Aime 2000, and if you’re skiing, you can get there easily – and yes, you can zip with your skis or snowboard strapped to you.

If you are walking or a non-skier, you can take the free shuttle lift, the Telemetro, from Plagne Centre up to Aime 2000. Then head outside onto the snow and down to the take-off point. The Telemetro runs every 5 minutes between 9 a.m. and 1 a.m., so there is plenty of time!

Here is the starting point of the La Plagne SuperTyro on Google Maps. It's just below the Club Med residence.

The finish line is in Plagne Centre, opposite the main bus stop. If you’re watching friends and family doing the zip line, then this is where you want to be for the best photos and viewing point.

Safety Gear and Briefing

Before embarking on your zipline journey, each participant is thoroughly outfitted with a harness and helmet. Safety is paramount throughout the adventure. The briefing at the top is comprehensive, preparing you for what’s to come and ensuring you feel confident and secure. It’s comforting to know that as you’re propelled into the Alpine skyline, every precaution has been taken to make your journey as safe as it is thrilling. The staff’s professionalism and attentiveness add an extra layer of reassurance, allowing you to focus purely on the experience.

Weight Requirements

Accessibility is a key feature of the Super Tyro zipline, welcoming individuals weighing between 20 to 130 kg. The minimum age is 6 years old. This inclusive range means that most visitors can experience the thrill. The SuperTyro is an ideal family activity or a solo venture. It’s a fantastic way to ensure that everyone, regardless of age or size, can enjoy the rush of flying over La Plagne.

The Descent Experience

When I took on the SuperTyro, it was the initial jump that I found the scariest! Once I'm zipping through the trees, I can relax, open my eyes and enjoy the view! The initial descent starts with an adrenaline-pumping acceleration through the trees. This initial burst of speed gradually gives way to a more serene middle section. Which allows you to take in the awe-inspiring views of the valley and Mont Blanc. The final braking phase smoothly transitions you back to terra firma, providing a gentle end to a breathtaking journey. This three-phase descent gives you the chance to enjoy the adrenaline rush and also the Alpine scenary.

Difficulty Level

With a beginner-level classification, the Super Tyro zipline is approachable for first-timers adrennaline hunters.  This ease means that you don’t need to be an extreme sports enthusiast to enjoy the ride. It’s designed to be an introduction to the world of ziplining. It offers enough excitement and thrill without overwhelming. Again, it's another reason why it's a perfect choice for families and individuals looking to step out of their comfort zone in a controlled environment.

Super Tyro Price

At 20€, the experience offers great value for a unique Alpine adventure. The convenience of accepting payments through cash, card, or holiday cheques/vouchers makes it easy to add this experience to your holiday budget. For the quality of the experience and the memories you’ll create, the price is more than reasonable. It's an affordable way to add an extra dose of excitement to your La Plagne visit.

Weather Dependent

The operation of the Super Tyro zipline is wisely subject to favorable weather conditions. This policy ensures that every ride is not only enjoyable but also safe. While it may be disappointing if your planned ride is cancelled due to bad weather, this attention to safety is commendable. It reflects the care and consideration Morgan, Jens and the team put into ensuring the well-being of their visitors.

Keep an eye on the La Plagne Syper Tyro Facebook Page to see if the weather interferes with the zipline runs.
