What is Home to Rome?
Starting on April 29th, Dan Keeley is running 1,100 miles in 35 days from the London Eye to the Colosseum in Rome in support of CALM: Campaign Against Living Miserably.
Dan, supported by partner Georgie and children Max & Sophia (aka Team Keeley). Dan and Team Keeley will be setting off in their Swift Voyager motorhome – to run 1,100 miles in 35 days from the London Eye to the Colosseum in Rome.
Averaging 35 miles per day, Dan's route takes him East along the River Thames to Greenwich Park, then on to Canterbury before heading to the channel in Folkstone.
From Calais onwards, it's a straight line to Lake Geneva in Switzerland. From there, Dan crosses the Alps into Italy via the Great St Bernard Pass, dropping down to the Aosta Valley before tackling the tantalizing trails of Tuscany and the final blast into Rome, finishing at the Colosseum on Friday, 2nd June at 3 pm. Home to Rome Fundraising
At the heart of Home to Rome is Dan's mission to raise a minimum of £20,000 to support CALM's tireless work to unite against suicide in the UK: a game-changing amount that could help to fund 2,500 potentially life-saving calls via CALMs helpline and web-chat services.

Home to Rome: The Alps Section for Snow Camp Charity
One of the sections of the Home to Rome route takes Dan through the Alps. Over 3 days, during the Alps Stage of Home to Rome, Dan will be running 84 miles plus an elevation of 2290m!
- May 16th) Martigny (Switzerland) to the Great St Bernard Pass (Switzerland/Italy) – 28 miles with 1582m of elevation gain.
- May 17th) Great St Bernard Pass (Switzerland/Italy) to Aosta (Italy) – 24 miles with 2290m of decent.
- May 18th) Aosta to Pont-St-Martin (Italy) – 34 miles with undulating trails through the Aosta Valley.
Dan is using these 3 days to raise awareness of the Snow Camp charity, where he is the Community Manager.

What is Snow Camp Charity
Snow Camp is a life-changing snowsports program run by the Switch180 charity that offers a series of courses to young people at indoor snow domes throughout the UK.
These courses are accredited and are delivered in partnership with various youth projects and service providers. Through Snow Camp, young people have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills while experiencing the thrill of snow sports.
Snow Camp Fundraising
Snow Camp raises money throughout the year to help support more young people's physical and mental health. Working in indoor snow centers throughout the UK, as well as taking members to the mountains once a year as part of their instructor training. The shift from an inner-city estate to mountains and alpine scenery is extreme. Creating lifelong memories and widening the horizons of the young people in the Snow Camp program.
April 2023 saw the annual AJ Bell 3 Valley Ralley in Val Thorens raise over £320,000!
