ABOUT
Super Slalom, La Plagne
As with all the best ideas, the inspiration for the SuperSlalom came to the 2 La Plagne hall-of-fame skiers, Julien Lizerou and Julien Régnier.
The idea was to create a ski event that was fun, spectacular, and open to all but also with a competitive element. And so the Super Slalom was born. Racing down 4kms, starting from Aime 2000 and finishing in La Roche, skiers pass through over 300 poles, crossing over multiple pistes on the descent. Check out the Super Slalom route!
There are competitive skiers from all over Europe taking part. The prizes? Huge wheels of local Beaufort cheese!
But there are more skiers in fancy dress than those taking it seriously. As the organisers say, the golden rule is to have fun! And there is, of course, a prize for the best fancy dress on the slopes!
Having said that, you will still need to prove that you can ski to a good enough ability to take part.
The event is on the 1st April 2023, with the first racers starting at 09h and taking off every 30 seconds.
If you fancy taking part, check ou the registration site, linked below. Prices start from 85€.

And That's La Plagne @ the Super Slalom
The Super Slalom is a lot of fun. I really enjoyed watching some of the racers taking off from the start and then cruising down to watch others cross the finish line. My kids also got caught up in the energy of the even as well and had a great time.
TOP TIPS:
- Take food/snacks for the kids
- Even if you're not skiing, still wear all your ski gear. It does get cold standing around.
- If you want to dress up, take face paints or any noise makers – do it! The atmosphere is super fun, and you want to be part of it!
