The ultimate Christmas gift guide for ski kids
1 – Ski Socks
Cool ski socks never go out of fashion! My kids and I wear ours for skiing, of course, but also just to keep warm and toasty through winter. These ski socks are cute for Christmas but also are just winter fun, lasting past the festivities.
2 – Snowshepherd Gloves
Snows Shepherd gloves from father and son team Tim and Brendan and made in the UK with repurposed leather. A modern update on the classic leather liftie gloves. They look good and will keep you warm and toastie.
When they are the gloves of choice by ESF UK and other ski schools, you know they must be doing something right!
On their site, they aren't listed as kids' gloves, but as XXXS or XS, etc, and they come in lots of colour ways; I'll be wearing the pink mittens this winter!
Just make sure if you buy kids gloves, that you buy the wrist straps at the same time to adoid loosing them off of the chair lift!
3 – Christmas sweater
It's a universal rule (in my opinion!) that everyone should own at least 1 “ugly” Christmas sweater! And more if you're really cool (I have loads!) I always try to find ones that have a nod to both Christmas and winter in general so I can wear them longer than just the festive period.
TOP TIP for kids is to buy them oversized, perfect for nailing the cool skier look, but they'll also last much longer!
4 – Lego Ski Kits
I absolutely love this Lego kit. It's on our Christmas wish list. It's great for litter skiers but is also super inclusive, with POC figures and also a sit skier. Love it and love Lego.
5 – Mechanical Cable Car
Ok, warning: it's not cheap, but it is amazing! We had one of these above the desk I used to work at in a ski hotel, and it was so much fun. In fact, I think my home desk needs an update…
6 – Ski A to Z Book
My kids love this book, and we'll read it in the run-up to the start of the ski season. The illustrations are super cute, and they always teach something. Plus, the book is super inclusive, with all nationalities represented and also includes sit skiers as well as skiers and snowboarders.

7 – Reusable hand warmers
I love reusable hand warmers. They are much better than the thrown-away single-use ones. You just pop them in a pan of water and boil them to reactivate them.
If the temperatures are dropping, I'll pop some of these in my kid's pockets if they want to use them during their ski club or lessons. They love their Santa ones, regardless of whether it's Christmas or not.
8 – Ski pyjamas

So cute! Great that they ar unisex and come is a variety of sizes. I love that they are perfect for Christmas, but also just for winter in general. I can imagine snuggling up to my boys in these PJs with a hot chocolate to watch Pokemon for the millionth time!
9 – Kids ski base layers
Dare 2b Kids' Base Layers
The best and most reasonably priced kids base laters I have found are from Dare 2b. They regularly have sales on, but they are always reasonably priced and have good quality. You can wash them over and over, and they will keep their fit and size.
But better than that, they actually keep the kids warm on the mountain. They look good enough that often, they can strip their outer layers off at the hotel bar to enjoy a hot chocolate before we head home. We always get compliments on their thermals.
10 – Winter beanie hat
Patagonia is the perfect example of buy once, buy quality. Their hats last forever; if you get one for your little one, trust me, they will still wear it years later! The Patagonia beanie hats grow with them.
Perfect beanies for ski trips but also great for chilly football days or school playgrounds.
11 – Audible
Special mention for Audible – it might not seem like an obvious Christmas gift, but if you're heading skiing with the kids this winter, then a subscription to Audible might be a great shout. You can choose and download a selection of audiobooks for yourself and your kids at age-appropriate levels. So, if you have a long car journey, flight, or ski transfer, you have a form of entertainment that isn't screen-dependent.
Right now, it is only £0.99 per month for the first 3 months. So, if you time it right, you can sign up and try it out for your ski trip. And then cancel it if you don't find it useful.
