Located on the site of the old Foir Fouille, just above the Aime train station, Antropia is opening on 29th April and offers a wide selection of gently used clothing, accessories, furniture, and more, making it a great option for those who want to reduce their environmental impact while still enjoying stylish and affordable finds.

There is a small snack bar as well, with hot and soft drinks as well and beers and wine. All served from a beautiful secondhand bar – I LOVE the secondhand beer tap! Check it out.

Wednesday to Friday 12 – 630 pm
Saturday 9 am – 7 pm

Aime's newest – and only! – secondhand store is the perfect place for eco-conscious shoppers who want to reduce their environmental impact while still enjoying stylish and affordable finds. I got to have a quick look behind the scenes this week before opening day on Saturday, and they have a wide selection of items, including books, furniture, kids' clothing, toys and more. Whether you're looking for a new outfit, a unique piece of furniture, or just some inspiration for your next DIY project, Aime's first secondhand store has something for everyone.

Antropia: it's not just shopping

Whilst there is a great selection of second-hand items for sale, Antropia aims to be something more than a shop. They are also creating a community space for like-minded people to come together.

As well as the shop and bar, there is also:

A large meeting space for local businesses and groups that need it
Creativity workshops. From kids' fun, to zero-waste, ceramics and other crafts. Keep watching to see what's happening next.
The opportunity for local artists to display and exhibit their items.
A fully equipped wood and metal workshop for individuals, associations, and professionals to use.

Excitingly, at the end of 2023, Antropia is opening a microplastic recycling factory. With a shredder, a heat press to make recycled plastic sheets, and an extruder to make filament for 3D printers. Contract the Antropia team here for more info on the microplastic factory.

There are lots of events planned at Antropia in the coming months. With a film screening, the digital ‘fablab” opening up, plus the official inauguration. Antropia offers a wide variety of items for shoppers to choose from. The store carefully curates its selection to ensure that all items are in great condition and ready for a new home.

Secondhand clothes

Antropia offers a wide variety of items for shoppers to choose from. The store carefully curates its selection to ensure that all items are in great condition and ready for a new home. Clothes have been donated initially from L'atelier 815, an amazing secondhand clothing store in Albertville. However, moving forward, they will be accepting donations.

If you are based in La Plagne and want to donate your clothing, here's how to do it.

Take your clothing to the dechetterie in La Plagne. It's just below Plagne 1800 and before bend 4.
The dechetterie is open every afternoon, Monday to Friday, between 130 pm and 530 pm.
Find the white clothing bin and drop off your items. Nothing broken or beyond repair, please!
The items get collected, washed, repaired, and returned to charities and secondhand shops for real.

If you want to donate other items, you can take them directly to the shop, or you can take them to your local dechetterie to the “réemploi” space, where they will be collected and turned around for resale.

Antropia also works with Libraibulles (a bookshop in Aime) to sell second-hand books. Adeline and Martin regularly go to Antropia to sort, clean, and select the books collected in order to offer you a quality selection.

Be aware, most of the books are French and the English selection is building slowly.
