My Experience from the 2023 Odyssea Event

Last year, I had the privilege of participating in the 5 km non-timed race alongside my 6-year-old son and his school friends. It was an experience filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the shared goal of making a difference. Running – ok, walking! – through the snow, surrounded by the La Plagne mountains and the Dou du Praz area, it was not only a physical journey but an emotional one as well.

Top Tips for Participants

  • Dress in Layers: Despite the cold surroundings, the physical exertion will quickly warm you up. Opt for lighter layers that you can easily remove.
  • Bring a Bag: A backpack or a similar bag is essential for storing the layers you shed during the race.
  • Stay Hydrated: Don't underestimate the importance of water, even in the cold. Bring a bottle to stay hydrated throughout the event.

Supporting the Cause Beyond the Race

For those unable to join the physical event in La Plagne, there are still plenty of ways to contribute to the cause. The connected distance race is an excellent option for participating remotely. Additionally, purchasing event merchandise like the pink Odyssea t-shirt directly supports breast cancer research.

That's La Plagne & the Odyssea Race

The Odyssea La Plagne race is more than just a sporting event; it's a powerful movement that brings people together for a cause that resonates deeply with many. It's an opportunity to challenge oneself, enjoy the incredible scenery of the French Alps, and, most importantly, contribute to the fight against breast cancer. As we look forward to the 2024 race, let's lace up our running shoes, embrace the spirit of solidarity, and make a difference, one stride at a time.

See you on the slopes!
