Le Lounge combines practicality with a touch of luxury, featuring modern, cosy furniture where you can relax and refuel. The space is not only heated but also strategically placed to provide stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Whether you’re escaping poor weather or simply want a peaceful spot to enjoy your meal, this new picnic area has you covered.
What sets Le Lounge apart is its accessibility and versatility. Skiers can stop here to recharge mid-day, while non-skiers can enjoy the atmosphere as part of their mountain experience. 5.La Plagne Bobsleigh Track – Experience the Thrill
Ever wondered what it's like to navigate a bobsleigh track? Now you can with the unique opportunity to swap jobs with a bobsleigh pilot for the day. The La Plagne bobsleigh track has long been open to the public to experience the rush of flying down the piste and we learnt this summer that La Plagne would host the Winter Olympics in 2030 for the Bobsleigh – on the same track you can shoot down!
This exhilarating experience is open to a maximum of 8 people per session, with a minimum age requirement of 16 years old. It's a chance to feel the rush of speed and precision that bobsleigh athletes experience.

Let's take a look at some of the exciting events lined up for this winter in La Plagne:
March 2024 – Born to Be Show
Prepare to be dazzled by the Born to Be Show on Thursday, 6th March 2025. A magical way to celebrate this year's leap year! The Born to Be Show is organised by the La Plagne Club des Sports, which is the local ski club and team (yep, my kids are in it!). The local skiers, from the age of 6 up to the International competitors and Olympic medal winners, participate to raise money for the ski club. And yes, I will be in touch to sell you some raffle tickets!
In the past, we’ve seen synchronised skiing, dancing piste bashers, the La Plagne Olympic stars parapenting onto the stage, plus of course, a fantastic fireworks display to round it all off. This mesmerizing spectacle blends music, lights, and incredible talent for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.
Subli’Cimes – Cancelled
Slotting this in here to confirm that the Subli'Cimes event is no more. I am sad about this as I loved the way we could explore the different peaks around La Plagne, with zen peaks, adrenaline peaks and others. I will miss it and I hope that the Mega Bell Course lived up to the Subli'Cimes standard.
Mega Bell Course – 14th – 19th April 2025
Mega Bell Course: Fun for All Ages
The Mega Bell Course is La Plagne’s newest event, promising a mix of fun, creativity, and a touch of competition. Taking place from 14–19 April 2025, this family-friendly event is designed to add a playful twist to traditional ski races, making it perfect for skiers of all ages and abilities.
So, what exactly is the Mega Bell Course? It’s a series of five wacky races that combine timed runs with quirky challenges. Participants will navigate courses featuring shortcuts, penalty zones, and bonus point opportunities that keep everyone guessing until the last moment. Adding to the festive atmosphere are the event’s themed bells, which play a prominent role—not just in the name but in the challenges themselves.
The event is structured to offer maximum flexibility. Skiers can jump into the action on Saturday for the big race day, or they can spend the entire week (Monday to Friday) practising on the timed courses, revealed one by one. This gives participants the chance to hone their skills and strategize for the big day.
Designed with families and groups in mind, the Mega Bell Course is more than just a race – it’s a celebration. Expect lively entertainment, plenty of laughs, and memories that will last a lifetime. Special weeklong and weekend accommodation packages will also be available, making it easy to join in on the fun.
This unique event is the perfect way to round off your ski season during the Easter holidays, blending competition with light-hearted fun and ensuring that everyone, from seasoned skiers to beginners, has a fantastic time.

Looking Ahead: Roche de Mio Gondola (Winter 25/26)
It might not be ready to whisk you up the mountain this winter, but the buzz around the new Roche de Mio gondola is already building. Set to debut in December 2025, this cutting-edge upgrade is going to completely change the game for skiers and snowboarders heading to the upper reaches of La Plagne’s ski area.
For those of you familiar with the current gondola, you know it’s overdue for a makeover. At the moment, it takes a leisurely 16–17 minutes to reach the top. That’s a lot of time spent watching the snow beneath your feet instead of carving it up. The new gondola promises to cut that journey nearly in half, clocking in at just 7–9 minutes. Less waiting, more skiing—it’s what we all want, right?
But it’s not just about speed. The new cabins will be bigger and better, with 10 seats per cabin and the ability to move 3,140 people per hour (more than double the current flow). Translation? No more feeling like a sardine in a tin, and fewer lines at the lift—yes, please!
There’s also an exciting new intermediate stop at Col de Forcle, giving visitors more options to explore the slopes or take in the stunning scenery. It’s all part of La Plagne’s ongoing commitment to making the mountains as accessible and enjoyable as possible for everyone, whether you’re here to ski, snowboard, or soak up the views during summer hikes.
This project is a big investment in the future of La Plagne and a clear nod to sustainability, with improved efficiency and reduced energy consumption in line with the resort’s eco-conscious goals. So, while it won’t be part of your 2024/25 holiday, rest assured it’ll be worth the wait. The renovated property will feature 50 rooms and 7 apartments, designed to provide modern comfort while retaining a connection to the mountain environment. The brand-new Hotel Graciosa is set to open its doors in Plagne Centre for the 2024/25 winter season.
