A Review of Vega Restaurant in La Plagne: The Best Dining Experience

Le Vega Restaurant La Plagne Centre

Le Vega Restaurant, La Plagne Centre

If you're looking for a dining experience that's both delicious and memorable, Le Vega Restaurant in La Plagne is a must-visit. From the mouth-watering food to the cosy atmosphere, this restaurant has it all. Read on for my review of this amazing eatery.

How to Get to Vega La Plagne

To get to Le Vega restaurant in La Plagne, here’s what you need to know depending on where you’re staying. Le Vega is located in Plagne Centre, which is pretty central across the different villages in La Plagne, so it's relatively easy to reach whether you're on skis or not. It's actually a great restaurant for skiers and non-skiers to meet at for a lovely lunch.

If you're skiing down, head to the Plagne Centre area, which is well-connected via the pistes from all the surrounding villages. Look out for the Grande Rochette Gondola as a landmark, and from there, you'll spot the shopping arcade where Le Vega is. It’s not directly on the slopes but on the snow front. So you can ski to the restaurant and pop your skis in the racks outside.

For those not skiing, there are free shuttle buses running regularly between the different La Plagne villages. If you're staying in Plagne Bellecôte, Aime 2000, or anywhere further, just hop on the bus heading towards Plagne Centre. Once you get off at the main stop, it's a 2-minute walk to Le Vega. It’s located within the Galerie Commerciale in Plagne Centre, so just follow signs to the arcade area, and you’ll find it easily.

The full insider guide to Le Vega

Situated on the end of the snow front in Plagne Centre, Vega is perfectly located in the middle of the snow front and also accessible by the internal indoor corridors. It’s easy to overlook Le Vega Restaurant because it is so large! There is a huge sunny terrace and even though it's in the middle of Plagne Centre, I think it's one of the nicest sunny terraces in La Plagne.

I think the indoor area is one of the largest restaurant spaces in La Plagne. And surely somewhere so large can’t produce great food for everyone – right? Wrong! With its warm and inviting atmosphere, attentive staff, and mouth-watering cuisine, Vega Restaurant is the perfect place to indulge in a really enjoyable long lunch or evening dining experience.

The Ambiance and Atmosphere of Vega Restaurant

The Vega Restaurant's ambience and atmosphere are great. A nice balance of relaxed and chill, but attentive, and of course, speedy food service. Indoors, the room is light and quite simple with Savoyard touches. Outdoors is the large terrace, which is a real sun trap in both winter and summer.

A great bonus is also that Le Vega is next to the ESF snow garden and also only seconds away from the Oxygene ski school meeting point. So if you have children in the ski schools, it’s a perfect spot to watch them or meet them.

Whether you're looking for a quiet and intimate evening or a lively and social atmosphere, Vega Restaurant has it all.

Vega menu and food options

The menu at Vega Restaurant is large, featuring a wide variety of dishes that are sure to please any palate. From the perfectly cooked steaks to the fresh seafood and vegetarian options, every dish is expertly prepared and beautifully presented. When I visited with my sister in spring, I devoured a salmon tartare with mango salsa, and she had a steak tartare, which both she and my husband agree is the best in La Plagne. So if you enjoy steak tartare, then head to Le Vega!

They also have the traditional Savoyard dishes on the menu, with a delicious tartiflette, the Savoyard classic of potatoes in a creamy sauce with lardon. As well as the fondue and raclette on the evening menus.

We also shared a cafe gourmand, which is my absolute favourite dessert. Can’t decide what you want for dessert? No problem. Have a cafe gourmand, which is 3 to 4 small tastes of the top dessert menu options, with an espresso. But you can switch out the coffee for tea, decaf, or a glass of something stronger if you prefer.

La Plagne Restaurant Guide

Summer at Le Vega Restaurant

Le Vega is one of the main restaurants open in the summer in La Plagne.

There is also a great ice cream selection at Le Vega, with sundaes and by the scoop. I often head there with the kids in summer, and they enjoy an ice cream sundae whilst I enjoy a cocktail! It’s also in eye line to the trampolines and bouncy castle in the summer months. So it’s a great spot to base yourself at.

TOP TIP: In summer, if you need to head up to the trampolines with your kids, simply order a cocktail to take with you. There is seating up there! Just make sure to take your glass back to Vega afterwards!
