Expedition Restaurant La Plagne Aime 2000: A Full Review

Expedition La Plagne Christmas

Expedition, Aime 2000

If you're looking for a unique dining experience in La Plagne, look no further than Expedition Restaurant. With its cosy but modern atmosphere and delicious menu, this restaurant is a hidden gem that's worth seeking out. In this review, I’ll show you a closer look at what makes Expedition Restaurant so special, from the quality of the food to the ambience of the dining room.

Nestled in the heart of La Plagne, in Aime 2000, Expedition Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. It’s reachable on foot for pedestrians who can take the free Telemetro lift from Plagne Centre to Aime 2000 and then just walk through the corridors in Aime 2000. If you are skiing, then you can also ski up to the outside of the Aime 2000 building and head in through the Expedition terrace. So, Expedition can be a great place to meet for lunch, with skiers and non-skiers able to get there.

La Plagne Restaurant Guide

Expedition is quite small, seating probably only 20 people indoors at any time. And as you walk past, you can see most of the tables and seating open to the passing public. But, from the moment you step inside, you'll be transported to a chilled, intimate space with a nod to the Savoyard local deco but with a light and airy modern twist.

Overall, the atmosphere and decor of Expedition Restaurant La Plagne are a perfect complement to the exceptional food and service.

Expedition Menu and food options

But it's not just the atmosphere that sets Expedition apart – the food is the real reason that Expedition is such a hit with locals. The local chef, Sam, works his magic to change up the menu most weeks, making the menu at Expedition Restaurant La Plagne is a true culinary adventure with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and innovative flavour combinations.

The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, from classic French cuisine to international favourites with a twist. There are usually vegetarian or vegan options on the menu, but if there aren’t, just speak to the host, Ludivine, and she’ll speak to her partner, Chef Sam, and they’ll figure something out for you!

Some standout dishes include the seared scallops with truffle risotto, the slow-cooked lamb shank with creamy polenta, and the decadent chocolate fondant for dessert. The restaurant also offers a carefully curated wine list, with options to pair perfectly with each dish. Overall, the food at Expedition Restaurant La Plagne is a true delight for the senses.

Quality of staff and service

In addition to the exceptional food, the service and staff at Expedition Restaurant La Plagne are top-notch. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a warm welcome and attentive service from owner Ludivine.

The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and wine list and can offer recommendations based on your preferences. They are also accommodating to dietary restrictions and allergies, ensuring that every guest can enjoy their meal without worry. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and overall, the quality of service and staff at Expedition Restaurant La Plagne only adds to the exceptional dining experience.

Brunch and Cocktails

I highly recommend heading there on a Sunday and trying their brunch menu. With fun takes on McMuffins, and sharing platters. I enjoyed (more than once!) the mixed plancha brunch with a selection of smoked salmon, avocado, muffins, bacon, and the most delicious eggs I’ve had in a long time.

I also love the cocktail menu at Expedition and had to work my way through most of the options there – for quality control, of course. But I definitely rate them, and I think Expeditions is amongst one of the best cocktail places in La Plagne.

Whether you're a foodie or simply looking for a memorable night out, Expedition Restaurant La Plagne is sure to exceed your expectations.
