In Plagne Bellecôte, Spitting Feathers is a classic old-school English pub run by Tim and Anna. Every winter, they serve up a UK-style Christmas dinner. Perfect for both adults and children, Spitting Feathers Opens at 430 pm every day.
2. Hotel Rhododendron / Bobsleigh Bar, Plagne 1800
Another place for a UK-style Christmas dinner, head to Plagne 1800’s Hotel Rhododendron and its lively Bobsleigh Bar. Well known for a fun and friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome, Bobsleigh Bar is a great stop for a UK-style Christmas dinner.

3. Expédition, Aime 2000
Expedition in Aime 2000 sets the scene for a magical Christmas dinner. This is one of our favourite stops for date night and the menu changes regularly to work with seasonal and local produce. There won’t be a UK Christmas dinner, but they will have something special cooking for Christmas.
Expédition is open every day for lunch and dinner.
4. La Face Nord, Belle Plagne
Belle Plagne's La Face Nord offers a unique dining experience with a quirky and colourful interior, every corner is an Instagrammers dream. The food will definitely be French in style, expect Oysters, Fois Gras and Bouche de Noël (Christmas Logs).
La Face Nord is open every day for lunch and dinner.
5. Hotel Carlina, Belle Plagne
Experience the festive ambience at Hotel Carlina in Belle Plagne. The hotel, of course, caters for its guests but also has a lovely public restaurant with a well-respected local chef. The Hotel Carlina is a great place to stop for a Christmas après ski hot chocolate, lunch or evening Christmas dinner.

6. Union Restaurant
Union restaurant is in Montalbert and is one of the best restaurants in the La Plagne area. Run by Phil Howard, who previously owned and was head chef at London’s 2 Michelin-star restaurant The Square. Union is a perfect restaurant for something special. My husband and I love the tasting menu, trying all the delicacies paired with expertly paired local wines. Union is the perfect venue for a special Christmas dinner.
La Plagne’s Best Mountain-Top Christmas Dining
1. Les Inversens
High up on the peak of the mountain at Roche de Mio, Les Inversens offers a scenic setting for your Christmas celebration. With fast self-service options and a more gourmet, seated lunch on their fabulous terrace, Les Inversens is a perfect spot to toast Christmas lunch.
Les Inversens is open when the pistes are and closes at 430 pm daily.
2. Chalet L’Arpette
On the Arpette piste, just above Belle Plagne, Chalet L’Arpette boasts a cosy atmosphere and delightful Christmas offerings. They have fast, self-service options and also a seated menu. The sun terrace is massive, with fantastic views across the pistes and mountain range.
If you’re staying in Belle Plagne or Bellecôte, it’s also a great option for an après ski drink at the end of a ski day. But they close when the pistes close, at about 4: 45 pm.
3. Ô Tour du Grill
New for winter 23/24! Refurbished in the old Chauffe Marcel building, this new La Plagne restaurant focuses on meats and local specialities and with BBQ pits – must be booked ahead! They also have an amazing fire-ball-pit on the terrace to warm up chilly hands. On the Jean Marie blue piste between Plagne Centre and Plagne 1800, you can ski there or, in the evenings, get picked up in a piste basher – super special!

4. La Bergerie
La Bergerie, on the Bergerie piste, is well known for its après ski on the snow. The food is fast and good, and this is the perfect spot for those looking for a Christmas lunch that slides into après ski celebrations! It is family-friendly, although I won’t blame you for leaving the kids behind and heading out to enjoy lunch and then adult-style après ski, Christmas style!
La Bergerie opens and closes with the pistes with the last orders at 430 pm daily.
5. Chalet du Plan Bois
Tucked away on the slopes down towards Montchavin, Chalet du Plan Bois promises a cosy setting and Christmas magic. With a super warm welcome, the menu is delicious, featuring local produce and traditional Savoyard recipes handed down through the family. Chalet du Plan Bois is something special for all the family this Christmas.

6. Verdons Sud
Halfway down the pistes from above Plagne Centre to Champagny, where the red Kamikaze and blue Bozelet pistes meet, Verdons Sud is one of the sunniest terraces in La Plagne! Enjoying fantastic views down towards Champagny, the restaurant is a firm favourite with locals and visitors. There is a fast self-service on the lower level and a seated menu on the higher terrace.
Open when the pistes are, this is perfect for a delicious, sunny Christmas lunch with the family.
Le Chalet des Verdons Sud is open when the pistes are and closes at around 4:45 pm.
