La Cantine menu and food options

The menu at La Cantine Bar and Restaurant is diverse and offers something for everyone. From classic French dishes to international cuisine, the chefs use fresh and locally sourced ingredients to create delicious and flavourful meals. Dishes on the menu are things like loaded nachos, cajun chicken burgers, poke bowls, tapas, and a varied pizza menu. They are simple-sounding dishes, but they are well made and nicely presented, making them really enjoyable.

My favourite is vegetarian nachos; my husband always goes for homemade chicken burgers.

There’s always a homemade dessert on offer, too, from white chocolate cheesecake to homemade brownies. Keep some space. They’re the perfect way to end your meal – plus a Génépi digestif, of course! Overall, the menu and food quality at La Cantine Bar and Restaurant is top-notch and definitely worth a visit.

Just make sure to call ahead and book, as they get very busy during restaurant hours. It’s a popular spot, so planning in advance is key.

Their takeaway pizzas are excellent quality and it's definitely one of the best takeaway pizza places in La Plagne.

The service and staff at La Cantine restaurant

In addition to the delicious food, the service and staff at La Cantine Bar and Restaurant are great fun. Manager Clem knows how to host a good night! Making the bar popular with locals and visitors alike.

The team is friendly and knowledgeable but relaxed, making sure that everyone feels welcome and taken care of. The restaurant has a cosy and inviting atmosphere, with comfortable seating and a warm ambience.

Although I wouldn't call it a sports bar, it also has a couple of TVs to catch up on sports and other entertainment.

Après Ski at La Cantine

Restaurant by day, La Cantine is also a lively après ski spot, granted with a more French crowd in the afternoon, with the British tending to head to their sister venue, La Mine, just up the road in Plagne 1800. However, La Cantine has a great cocktail menu and a large beer and wine selection. They also have regular DJ sets in both summer and winter. You’ll often find most of the locals chilling out here after a long day of work – and if we know anything, it’s to follow the locals because they know the best places in town!
